Tell MAMA Campaign Against Anti-Muslim Hate or Islamophobia

EU Action Day on Islamophobia 21 Sept 2014

Starting from 21 September 2014, a Europe-wide Day of Action against Islamophobia and Religious Intolerance and running until the end of Hate Crime Awareness week (11-18 October 2014), Tell MAMA is calling on the British public to take a stand against anti-Muslim hate by sending a letter to their MP.

You are welcome to write your own letter, or you can use our pre-written letter stressing four key areas that MPs should work on in the future: These include, (1) Improving reporting levels of anti-Muslim hate crime, (2) Closer scrutiny of far-right political organisations and actions to tackle the anti-Muslim narratives of such groups, (3) Disrupting online hate, and (4) Equipping teachers and students with the skills necessary to challenge anti-Muslim hate and intolerance in schools. Based on our research, we have determined the four above as key priorities that we believe politicians can work on.

Instructions on how you can support the campaign:

  1. Complete the form below with your full name, address, and post code. We use the post code to look up your current MP and your address is required so that your MP knows that you are his or her constituent. Your email address is required so that your MP may reply to you.
  2. Review the letter in the ‘Email content’ field and make any changes you wish.
  3. Hit ‘Submit’

Together we can make a difference and ensure that those who seek to promote hate, intolerance and bigotry, do not have the chance to spread their poison into communities. They are a threat to the stability and safety of our country.
