We have received reports today of a far right group – the so-called ‘British Movement’ that has been active in the London Borough of Hackney. We have received numerous pictures of their stickers on Hackney lamp posts and with the individual reporting in suggesting that there are multiple sites where these stickers have been plastered.
We are in no doubt that such actions are meant to intimidate and plastering such stickers in one of the most diverse boroughs in London is troubling. This is not so much about raising the profile of the far right group, as being about creating fear and anxiety in local communities in Hackney.
If you have come across such stickers, we would be grateful if you could let us know the location of where they are in Hackney, so that we can work with the local authority to ensure that they are removed.
