A suspected teenage neo-Nazi is facing a trial next April for a range of allegations ranging from making explosives to blackmail and creating deep-fake images of girls.

The 17-year-old, from Norfolk, is accused of 16 offences including allegations of making explosives, having a firearm, possessing and distributing terror manuals, and stirring up racial hatred.

The youth defendant, who cannot be identified, is also alleged to have “catfished” men online in order to blackmail them over sexual images, and produced deep-fake sexual images of six teenage girls.

He was arrested at home in south Norfolk on April 10 last year and charged following an investigation by Counter Terrorism Policing London.

The boy, who is on conditional bail, appeared at the Old Bailey for a preliminary hearing before Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb on Friday.

The judge set a plea hearing at Leicester Crown Court on September 25 with a provisional trial in April next year.

The defendant’s barrister indicated he would deny the 16 charges at present.

They are: possession of a record containing information useful to terrorism; two counts of distributing a terrorist publication; four charges of making an explosive substance and one of having an explosive substance; possession of a firearm; two charges of distributing written material to stir up racial hatred; criminal damage; racially or religiously aggravated criminal damage; two counts of blackmail; and making six indecent pseudo-photographs of children.
