A fire broke out yesterday evening at the Pakistani Community Centre in Harehills, Leeds. Fire crews from Leeds put the fire out and the Community Centre is adjacent to the Bilal mosque.
The building was empty at the time and the following statement was put out by Chief Inspector Fran Naughton of Leeds District:
“We would like to re-assure people that the situation is now under control and the fire service are damping down at the scene. The cause of the fire will be investigate by the fire service with the support of the police but it is too early to say whether the cause is suspicious.”
