The Metropolitan Police is investigating threatening and racist graffiti left on a bus stop in Barking.
The disturbing racist graffiti read, “P***s go home. This is my country. Trump style coming,” appeared sometime last week (around 5 May), and the local council have since removed it.
After a Muslim service user contacted us to report it, our casework team made a police report.
Members of the public can report graffiti in public areas anonymously – be it on bins, benches, and public buildings – to their local council, online or otherwise. Councils aim to remove racist or any other forms of offensive graffiti within 24 hours (or less) when notified.
Last week, Tell MAMA reported on disturbing anti-Muslim graffiti inside a toilet cubicle at Liverpool Street station, which is also the subject of a police investigation.
In recent months, other disturbing examples of racist and anti-Muslim graffiti targeting mosques and Islamic centres in Exeter, Birmingham and Greenwich.
