We can report today regarding an incident where concerns were raised to police by TELL MAMA about the content of entries on social media platforms, resulting in a Cheshire police investigation and one man being arrested.

Press Release from Cheshire Constabulary,
“Cheshire Constabulary are investigating an allegation of racial hate comments placed onto a social media platform.
Following police enquiries, on 30 October 2013, a 24 year old man from Ellesmere Port was arrested on suspicion of offences under Section 19 of the Public Order Act (relating to publishing and / or distributing written material which may stir up racial hatred), racial harassment, and malicious communications.
Following interview, the man has been released on police bail until a date in December pending further police enquiries.”
